These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Rubbish Removal Harrow provides rubbish removal and waste collection services. By booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing a booking.
1.1 In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:
a. Service means any rubbish removal, waste collection, bulky item removal, clearance, loading, transportation, recycling or disposal work carried out by us.
b. Customer means any individual, business, landlord, letting agent, organisation or other entity that requests or receives our Service.
c. Premises means the property or location where the Service is to be performed.
d. Waste means any rubbish, household waste, commercial waste, garden waste, construction debris, bulky items, furniture, appliances or other materials agreed to be removed as part of the Service, excluding any prohibited or hazardous materials as set out in these Terms and Conditions.
e. We, us or our means Rubbish Removal Harrow, the provider of the Service.
f. You or your means the Customer using or requesting the Service.
2.1 We provide rubbish removal and waste collection services, including loading, transportation and lawful disposal or recycling of waste from domestic and commercial premises.
2.2 The exact scope of the Service will be agreed at the time of booking and confirmed by us based on the description of the waste, access to the premises, and any additional requirements communicated by you.
2.3 We reserve the right to refuse to collect any items or materials that we reasonably believe to be hazardous, illegal, excessively heavy, unsafe to handle, or otherwise unsuitable for our standard waste collection service.
3.1 Bookings for rubbish removal in Harrow and surrounding areas can be made by telephone, email or through any other booking channel we make available.
3.2 When placing a booking, you must provide accurate and complete information, including:
a. Your full name and contact details.
b. The address of the premises where the Service is required.
c. A clear description of the type and approximate volume or weight of the waste to be collected.
d. Any access restrictions, parking limitations, time constraints or other relevant site information.
3.3 Any quotation provided prior to arrival is based on the information supplied by you. If, upon arrival, the actual volume, weight, nature of waste, or access conditions differ from the description given, we may adjust the price accordingly before commencing the Service.
3.4 A booking is considered accepted and confirmed only when we have acknowledged the booking and, where applicable, received any required deposit or prepayment.
4.1 Unless otherwise stated, all prices are quoted in pounds sterling and are exclusive of any applicable taxes that may be required by law.
4.2 Quotations are based on factors including the estimated volume of waste, type of waste, required manpower, disposal costs, and the location of the premises within our service area.
4.3 We may offer guide prices based on photographs or descriptions provided by you. Final pricing will be confirmed on site once our team has inspected the waste and access conditions.
4.4 If you decline the final price confirmed on site, we will not proceed with the Service and no charge will be made, except where a call-out charge or minimum fee has been expressly agreed in advance.
5.1 Payment is due on completion of the Service on the date of collection, unless we have agreed alternative payment terms in writing prior to the Service taking place.
5.2 We accept payment by cash, debit card, credit card or bank transfer. We reserve the right to specify acceptable payment methods at the time of booking.
5.3 For business customers, we may, at our discretion, agree to invoice after completion of the Service. Payment terms will be set out on the invoice. If not otherwise stated, payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date.
5.4 If you fail to make payment when due, we reserve the right to charge interest on the overdue amount at the statutory rate allowed under applicable UK law, accruing daily until payment is received in full.
5.5 Title to collected waste passes to us upon loading and receipt of payment in full. Until payment is received, we reserve the right to recover any outstanding sums through lawful means.
6.1 You may cancel or amend your booking by contacting us during our normal business hours.
6.2 If you cancel more than 24 hours before the scheduled collection time, no cancellation fee will normally apply.
6.3 If you cancel within 24 hours of the scheduled collection time, or if our team attends the premises and is unable to carry out the Service due to your act, omission, or lack of access, we may charge a reasonable cancellation or call-out fee to cover our costs.
6.4 We will make reasonable efforts to reschedule bookings where required, subject to availability in our collection schedule.
6.5 We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a booking at any time in the event of operational issues, vehicle breakdown, staff illness, severe weather conditions, safety concerns, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, we will seek to offer an alternative appointment or a full refund of any amounts paid in advance.
7.1 You are responsible for ensuring that we have safe, reasonable and lawful access to the premises, including suitable parking for our vehicles within a reasonable distance of the collection point.
7.2 If parking restrictions apply, you must inform us at the time of booking and, where necessary, arrange for permits or provide details of suitable parking options.
7.3 Any parking charges, congestion charges, tolls, or fines incurred as a result of inaccurate information or failure to arrange suitable access may be charged to you in addition to the service price.
8.1 We will collect general household waste, commercial waste, furniture, appliances, garden waste, light construction debris and other non-hazardous materials, subject to any specific limits communicated at the time of booking.
8.2 The following materials are typically prohibited and will not be collected unless expressly agreed in writing and in compliance with all relevant regulations:
a. Asbestos or asbestos-containing materials.
b. Clinical, medical or biological waste.
c. Chemicals, solvents, paints, oils or fuel.
d. Gas bottles or pressurised containers.
e. Hazardous or toxic substances.
f. Any items that are illegal to possess, transport or dispose of.
8.3 If, upon arrival, we discover prohibited or hazardous materials not disclosed at the time of booking, we may refuse to handle such items and adjust the Service or price accordingly, or cancel the Service and charge a reasonable fee for attendance.
9.1 You must ensure that the waste to be collected is clearly identified and separated where necessary, and that it does not contain prohibited materials.
9.2 You must ensure that the collection area is reasonably clear and safe for our team to access and work in, including any stairways, corridors, driveways, or outdoor areas.
9.3 You must not ask our team to perform any task that is unsafe, illegal or outside the agreed scope of the Service.
9.4 Where we have agreed to remove appliances or items connected to utilities, you are responsible for ensuring that such items are safely disconnected by a competent person prior to our arrival.
10.1 We will provide the Service with reasonable care and skill, in accordance with applicable UK consumer law and waste management regulations.
10.2 While carrying out the Service, we will take reasonable care to avoid damage to your property. However, you accept that minor scuffs, marks or incidental damage may occur where large or heavy items must be moved through confined spaces.
10.3 We will not be liable for any damage to premises, fixtures, fittings or belongings where:
a. Damage arises from pre-existing structural defects, weaknesses or poor design.
b. Access is unusually narrow, awkward or hazardous, and you have requested us to proceed despite us advising of the risk.
c. Items have not been properly disconnected or prepared prior to our arrival.
10.4 Our total liability for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the Service, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, shall be limited to the amount paid by you for the specific Service giving rise to the claim, except where liability cannot be limited or excluded by law.
10.5 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
11.1 We operate in accordance with applicable UK waste management legislation and regulations and will take all reasonable steps to ensure that collected waste is transported and disposed of lawfully.
11.2 Where required by law, we or our authorised partners will hold the necessary licences or registrations for the collection, transport and disposal of controlled waste.
11.3 We may issue documentation such as a waste transfer note or receipt to confirm collection and the nature of the waste. You should retain this documentation for your records.
11.4 Once waste has been collected and payment has been received, we will determine the most appropriate method of recycling, recovery or disposal in line with regulatory requirements and environmental best practice, where reasonably practicable.
12.1 We will use reasonable efforts to attend your premises at the agreed time. However, arrival times are approximate and may be affected by traffic, weather, breakdown, or other factors beyond our reasonable control.
12.2 We will not be liable for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused by delays or failure to perform the Service arising from events beyond our reasonable control, but we will seek to keep you informed and rearrange the Service where necessary.
13.1 If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the Service, you should notify us as soon as reasonably possible so that we can attempt to resolve the issue.
13.2 We may request supporting information such as photographs or a description of the issue. We will investigate complaints in good faith and aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.
14.1 We may collect and process personal information such as your name, contact details and address for the purpose of managing bookings, carrying out the Service, and handling payments and enquiries.
14.2 We will handle personal data in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws and use it only for legitimate business purposes connected with the provision of our rubbish removal services.
15.1 We may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time without prior notice. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to that particular Service.
15.2 It is your responsibility to review these Terms and Conditions periodically if you use our services on a regular basis.
16.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Service, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
16.2 You and we agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the Service provided by Rubbish Removal Harrow.
